Public Liability Insurance

As a labourer you’re built tough and are ready for whatever the job throws at you. Unfortunately however, not everyone is a labourer and not everything is built tough, and so it is your responsibility to be prepared when things go sideways.

Public Liability Insurance

As you well know, labourers are exposed to a variety of risks while on the job. One such risk is the potential damage to a third party’s property or the potential injury or death of a third party. Although it’s hard to consider, it’s important to think about covering you and your mate in the event of an unfortunate accident.

There’s no need to stress though, public liability insurance is available for all labourers from imar. Public liability insurance cover can be used to reduce your financial risk and can actually be a requirement for certain worksites.

Whether it is a requirement or not, it’s a vital for any labourer to consider.

As a Labourer How Much Cover do I Need?

So how much cover is enough? It’s a difficult question and doesn’t have a simple answer. Currently the minimum amount of cover available in Australia is $5 million. However, usually insurers will offer up to $20 million cover and can even exceed that cover, albeit in rare circumstances.

A cover of $5 million has historically been sufficient for residential or small commercial projects, however there has been a growing demand for $10 million public liability policies. It’s important to consider how and where you work and choose the option that best suits you.
