Getting A Quote

How do I get a quote?

Your time is precious, so we make it as easy as possible for you. You can call imar on 1800 284 627 and speak to our Trades and Business Insurance specialists, or complete the ‘Get a Quote’ form with your details and we’ll call you.

How long does it take to get cover?

We can often provide immediate cover. Where we can’t provide immediate cover, and we need to negotiate with insurers on your behalf, we get on to it straight away to provide you with the insurance solution best suited to your needs.

What cover do I need?

Our primary aim is to ensure you have the insurance protection you and/or your business needs. Our Trades and Business Insurance specialists will help you understand what you need and make the process as easy as possible for you.

How do I get a certificate of currency?

For our trades clients, these are emailed to you as soon as we arrange cover.

How long are quotes valid for?

Generally, quotes are valid for 30 days. If the quote was provided more than 30 days ago, just call our team on 1800 284 627. We’ll have your details at hand and can arrange cover quickly and easily.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes – for the vast majority of our clients. Many of our clients have interest free instalment arrangements in place!

Which insurance companies do you use?

imar is part of the Gallagher, one of the largest insurance brokers in the world. This means in addition to working with all leading insurers in Australia, we have huge reach when it comes to accessing additional insurers and markets.

Will I speak with an expert?

Our new business team have been with us, on average, for more than 10 years and have developed a deep understanding of the insurance market but more importantly the cover businesses and individuals need.

Can I get a quote online?

imar does not currently offer this facility but provide most trades quotations over the phone with cover immediately available.

Can I pay online?

Yes. Using our ‘Make a Payment’ facility, you can pay quickly and securely.

Your Existing Policy

How do I make a claim?

If you need to make a claim or have a claims emergency, you can call us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. During business hours (8:30am – 5:00pm) please call 1800 284 627. Outside business hours, please call 1800 254 287. You’ll have immediate access to our dedicated claims specialists.

How do I renew my cover?

Your time is important so we keep the renewals process as quick and as easy as possible for you. We will send your renewal information to you at least 14 days before the expiry of your policy. If this is paid by instalments, for most policies, cover will continue. To ensure you and/or your business is protected, and we know of any changes required, we may need to discuss your existing policy and cover in more detail.

How do I make changes to my policy?

Simply call us on 1800 284 627 and one of team members will help you make the changes you need.

How do I cancel my policy?

We understand that circumstances can change which may result in policies being cancelled. As claims can still be made against you after your policy has been cancelled, we ask for requests for policy cancellation to be made in writing.

Are there any charges when I cancel my cover?

When your written request for cancellation has been made, commission and fees paid to imar aren’t refunded. The insurer will retain a proportion of the premium generally on a pro rata basis and may also have other cancellation provisions.

How do I make a complaint?

All of our clients deserve great service and so we need to know when this hasn’t been the case to make sure we address any concerns and get better at what we do. We always recommend calling us on 1800 284 627 and we’ll do all that we can to help or you can email insure@imar.com.au
